PR-79 Puerto Rico 1979
Date of travel: Oct 25 – Oct 29, 1979

ITINERARY:
In the evening on Oct 25, 1979 I drive my Mustang to San Diego airport. There I take an American Airlines plane (with stop in Phoenix) to New York, where early in the morning the next day. In New York I change to another AA plane to San Juan, PUERTO RICO. After crossing the Bermuda Triangle the plane lands there before noon. I take a minibus to my hotel “El Convento.” In the afternoon I do some sightseeing of San Juan on my own. After dinner short visit to nearby El Morro Fortress.
In the morning on Oct 27 I take a trip to “El Yunque Rain Forest” in the eastern part of the island. In the afternoon I take a ferry from San Juan to Catano with a visit to “Bacardi factory” producing rum. In the evening I watch a “Flamenco Show” in my hotel.
In the morning on Oct 28 I am walking through San Juan. I visit El Morro Fortress again and later on the Fort San Cristobal. Then I buy souvenirs for my mother, sister and myself. In the afternoon I take a boat ride of the San Juan Bay. After relaxing in my hotel I make a walk through the city in the eveninofg.
In the early morning of the last day of my trip to Puerto Rico I still make some photos of San Juan and buy few more souvenirs. Then I take a taxi to the airport. The AA plane takes off after 1 PM over the Bermuda Triangle for New York. In New York I change the plane for one to San Diego where at 9 PM. I find my Mustang in the parking lot, pay $24 and drive home to Vista where at 10:15 PM still on Oct 29.

CAR-91 CARIBBEAN CRUISE
Date of travel: Nov 22 – Nov 30, 1991

ITINERARY: Evening departure from San Diego Airport (SAN), via Phoenix, Atlanta to
PORTO RICO (US COMMONWEALTH) – (1/2 day in San Juan, boarding ship “Daphne” of Italian Costa Co., individual sightseeing of San Juan PM, ship evening departure), there is a 7 men Czech band on Daphne.
ST. MAARTEN (Netherlands) / ST. MARTIN (France) – (1/2 day sightseeing of both parts of the island by bus, ship evening departure)
MARTINIQUE (France) – (most of 1 day sightseeing of the island, AM by myself the capital Fort-de-France and PM by bus the island with the botanical gardens and the old capital St. Pierre destroyed by volcano)
BARBADOS – (1 day sightseeing of the island, AM the island by bus and PM the capital Bridgetown by myself)
ST. LUCIA – (1 day on the island, 3.5 hours on catamaran from Castries to Soufriere, here a walk through active volcanic area, and back by bus)
ANTIGUA – (1 day on the island, AM sightseeing the island by minibus, PM on the beach)
ST. THOMAS (US VIRGIN ISLANDS) – (AM bus tour of the island, PM by myself), the only part of USA where cars drive on the left side of the road.
PORTO RICO (US COMMONWEALTH) – leaving the ship AM, departure by air PM via Atlanta to San Diego (SAN) where late evening.
