TM-04 Thailand and Myanmar trip
Date of the trip: Feb 25 – Mar 18, 2004
ITINERARY:
On Feb 25 early drive in rented car from Vista to Los Angeles airport. Flight via Tokyo (Narita) to Bangkok, THAILAND where Feb 26.
Next 8 days are devoted to sightseeing Thailand starting with an early morning flight from Bangkok to Phitsanulok (visiting Wat Yai there, a “wat” is a Buddhist temple in Thailand). We continue in a van to Sukhothai (seeing the Sukhothai Historical Park with Wat Mahatat and number of other wats) then drive to the Si Satchanalai-Chalinang Historical Park (with its Chang Lom Wat to name at least one). From there by van all the way to Chiang Mai, which is with Bangkok the most prominent place in Thailand to visit. There are more then 300 temples in this city. The following day sightseeing Chiang Mai wats and a cable car ride to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep and a visit to a Jade Factory. One day is spent in Mae Sa Valley riding elephants and visiting an orchid garden.
